I know I just posted but at the same time, my close friend, Chole wanted to tell you guys about this Sailor Moon makeup that was recently released!

Without further ado, here's Chole!:

Hi, I’m Chole from Starbright Dreams and I’ll be the guest blogger for the evening.

Whether you’re a fan or not, I’m sure most of you have heard of the anime, Sailor Moon. It’s arguably the most popular ‘shoujo (girls)’ anime series in the world. In fact, it’s not hard to see the impact it has had on other anime/cartoon with theme of magical girl. Recently, the series has been celebrating it’s 20th anniversary, starting back in 2011 the manga was re-released in the USA with a new cover and better translations. Last year, there was a live stream event to announce the production of a new anime of the series in which the theme song would be sung by female idol group, Momoiro Clover Z. However it has been delayed and there has been no announcement of a release date. However I’m not here to just ramble on about anime on a fashion blog, haha.

To further commemorate the anniversary, toy and video game company Bandai has revealed limited edition Sailor Moon goods for pre-order only. Now I bet you’re wondering whatever does that have to do with fashion and beauty? The items are make-up, from a real cosmetic brand “Miracle Romance” inspired by the popular shoujo series.

Pressed Powder

Animated Crystal Star Brooch

The first product to come out was a pressed powder under the name of "Miracle Romance Shining Moon Powder." The powder is contained in a compact which is based on the transformation item, Crystal Star Brooch used by Sailor Moon in the second season of the anime, ‘Sailor Moon R’ (originally airing 1993 – 1994, JP).

The going pre-order price of 3,980 yen (about US$40), the first pre-order was June 4th and second was June 12th. It was no surprise that they were promptly sold out at both the Premium Bandai site and CD Japan. Personally, I don’t know the quality to recommend it or not, but looking at it, there’s a high chance it won’t suit your skin. In which case you can still use it for cosplay, for your collection or dump the contents and add your own powder (this is an interesting guide to check). It will officially be released in October.

Nail Collection

The second product was announced just yesterday and has been put on pre-order and promptly sold out. It’s a set of nail polish under the name, "Miracle Romance Nail Collection." The nail polish bottles are based on the sailor soldiers’ Star Power Stick, from Sailor Moon R (1993 – 1994) and comes in five colors. The five colors represents the scouts, pink for Sailor Moon, red for Sailor Mars, blue for Sailor Mercury, green for Sailor Jupiter, orange for Sailor Venus. It should be noted that Sailor Moon never uses or obtains a transformation in the series *screams about inaccuracy*, but they represented her nonetheless, which is good because the shade is perfect.

Pink, blue, and green have a pearl finish while red and orange are matte. The Sailor Moon R Miracle Romance Nail Collection will retail for 5,250 yen (about US$53) and it will be shipped in October. I feel like it’s a missed opportunity that they didn’t choose to include the outer scouts like Pluto, Saturn, Neptune and Uranus. Those would be some bomb colors especially Pluto’s.

Fans’ Concepts

Japanese fans have also done concept art of what they think the other items will look like after the initial pre-order of the pressed powder. Please take a look below.

The Premium Bandai website offers Creamy Mami's Magical Stick Lip Cream, Urusei Yatsura's "deliciously scented Lovely Darling Fruit Tubes" and other cosmetics, and an entire line of Rose of Versailles beauty products. So I recommend checking those out too. As well as keep your eyes and ears open for the next Sailor Moon related release. It’ll be a treat to see what they’ll come up with next.

It has been a pleasure to guest blog for my dear friend Lily. I hope I get the chance to do it again and would love for her to guest on my blog too.

- Chole (Starbright Dreams)

Hello! Lily here again! After reading all that information about the Sailor Moon makeup and the previewing what's to come: I just want to say, give me, give me, give me! I've loved Sailor Moon for all my life! I've mentioned once on my old blog, that I have a Sailor Moon necklace that I absolutely adore so this is right up my alley!

What do you think of the Sailor Moon makeup line? Would you get this for yourself? Would you get this for a friend? Which do you prefer - the official line or the fan-made makeup?
